Stagecoach, the UK’s biggest bus and coach operator, has announced the launch of a new customer rewards scheme to help support the Great British Staycation with special offers right across the country in the leisure sector, including visitor attractions, places to eat out and hotels.
Stagecoach’s new scheme, Stagecoach Rewards, will provide exclusive discounts to bus customers to encourage people to return to the things they enjoyed doing before the pandemic. The scheme will support local attractions and also retailers, with each of Stagecoach’s 17 regions regularly seeing new local offers as well as a range of discounts for national visitor attractions.
The launch of the new rewards scheme is designed to encourage people to make use of their local attractions, enjoy the Great British Staycation and use sustainable and easy public transport for their journeys.
Buses play a vital role in helping to restart the economy and supporting communities. Recent research by Greener Journeys shows that people use buses to make shopping and leisure trips to the value of £27 billion a year.
Carla Stockton-Jones, Interim Managing Director UK for Stagecoach, said: “Our services play a really important role in getting people back together and connecting them to the things they enjoy most, such as days out, shopping trips, meeting up with friends and family, nights away and meals out.
“We want to support our local attractions right across the country and help them to recover from the terrible impact of Covid-19. This new scheme will offer a range of discounts for customers to shop, eat out and visit tourist attractions in their local area, but will also provide choices for people wanting to take a longer distance day out or night away.
“It’s crucial that we now all work together more closely than ever before to support our local communities and help restart the economy. Our bus services offer an easy, safe and environmentally friendly way to support the leisure sector and can help people get back to the things that they enjoy doing.”
To access the discounts, customers will need to sign up to https://rewards.stagecoachbus.com/ to get a promotional voucher or code which will entitle them to a discount when they present it to the retailer with a valid bus ticket. Stagecoach Rewards is managed by The Marketing Lounge Partnership (MLP), a mar-tech agency who specialise in customer loyalty and incentive initiatives.
Stagecoach has put a range of measures in place to help people feel safe and confident in using its services. All bus, tram and coach services have been accredited with Visit Britain’s “We’re Good to Go” official mark, recognising the work carried out to meet government and industry Covid-19 guidelines and the processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. The comprehensive regime includes daily deep cleans and contactless payments, in addition to the government's mandatory use of face coverings.
A “busy bus” feature is also now available on the app that uses extensive data and artificial intelligence to provide a traffic light indicator to help customers plan their journeys.
