Stagecoach Awarded Good Employment Charter Status in Manchester
Stagecoach, the UK’s largest bus and coach operator, is thrilled to announce today that Stagecoach Manchester is the latest member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, a voluntary membership and assessment scheme with the goal of improving employment standards across Greater Manchester employers. This recognition highlights Stagecoach’s commitment to fair working practices, employee welfare, and providing high-quality jobs.
Rob Jones, Managing Director of Stagecoach Manchester said: “We are delighted to have our commitment to delivering high standards of employment recognised in Greater Manchester through our Good Employment Charter membership.
“We are extremely proud of our inclusive and supportive culture and believe this is fantastic for our employees as it demonstrates our dedication to continually improving our employee offering including pay and conditions, employee voice, health and wellbeing.”
Membership in the charter is granted to organisations that meet criteria based on seven principles: secure work, fair pay, employee engagement, flexible working, workplace wellbeing, inclusion, and developing a productive workforce. The criteria ensures that participating organisations are actively contributing to a fairer, more sustainable economy by adopting practices that benefit both employees and the wider community.
Tracey Smyth Head of People & Talent for Stagecoach Manchester added: “Becoming a member of the Good Employment Charter is a brilliant achievement and testament to the fantastic work our entire team do day-in day-out for the people of Greater Manchester. The charter is perfectly aligned to our own business values and ethos, and we’re thrilled to be recognised.”
As a member, Stagecoach has become part of a network of organisations committed to improving employment standards across Greater Manchester. Resources, guidance and support from the network will help Stagecoach to continually enhance their practices as they strive for employment excellence.
“We relish the opportunity to work and engage with the charter further to continually evolve our employee proposition for the future.”
