Scotland’s leading coach operator Scottish Citylink is making travel even easier for Royal Highland Show visitors this year by operating direct services to the Edinburgh event from across Scotland.
Scottish Citylink has teamed up with Royal Highland Show organisers to encourage greener travel to the event with the introduction of direct travel to the venue from 25 Scottish towns and cities. These include:
Dundee, Forfar, Stonehaven, Aberdeen, Motherwell, Hamilton, East Kilbride, Kilmarnock, Ayr, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Cupar, Falkirk, Larbert, Alloa, Stirling, Wishaw, Carluke, Lanark, Biggar, Lockerbie, Dumfries, Kinross and Perth.
Customers travelling from Glasgow can also use the existing Citylinkair service and alight at the stop at Eastfield Road which is a short walk to the show, which takes place from 20-23 June.
Coach tickets can be booked at www.citylink.co.uk
Scottish Citylink Operations Director Peter Knight said: “The Royal Highland Show is one of the country’s most high-profile events and we are delighted to be able to help even more people attend the event from across the country, through our direct services.
“This is the first year we have run these specific routes and we hope people will leave their cars at home, jump on the coach and have a fantastic day out.”
Alan Laidlaw, RHASS Chief Executive said “We have worked to create an integrated transport plan that directs many of our visitors to take public transport rather than bringing the car. The addition of Citylink to this plan, providing direct routes from Scotland's major towns and cities to the event, will give a seamless journey to Ingliston and this is good news for both the environment and our visitors who can relax and enjoy the journey to the Royal Highland Show."
