megabus reserved seating

Reserved seating goes live across megabus network

  • Customers travel in first reserved seats from today
  • Added customer benefit for travel on one of the UK’s leading value coach operators
  • Over 35,000 customers already reserved seats through the new service

Customers travelling on megabus, one of the UK’s leading value coach operators, will be using reserved seating for the first time from today (Monday 30 September).

This is the latest innovative development to improve the service for customers, who are now able to book specific seats on journeys across the country for just an extra £1* added to the price of their ticket.

Over 35,000 people have already taken advantage of the new seating reservation service, which guarantees customers a seat of their choice, either enabling them to sit with friends and family or to plan in advance whether they would like front, aisle or window seating.

Around 16 seats on each megabus.com vehicle can now be reserved in advance during the online booking process from as little as an extra £1* added to the price of the ticket. The new bookable seats are now available on all megabus services operating within England and Wales, along with cross-border services running between Scotland and England.

megabus Managing Director Mark Venables said: “We’re always looking for new and innovative ideas to improve our customer offer, and enabling people to choose seats in advance is another way of making travel with megabus more attractive, both to new and existing customers.

“We’ve been amazed by how many people have been using the system, and with over 35,000 people already reserved on specific seats, it’s a great sign of the continued popularity of our services.

“We’re adding more and more services to our UK wide, national network of intercity travel services and improving the quality of service for customers. Everyone is still guaranteed a seat, just that now customers in groups or who really like the front row can make a reservation. There’s never been a better time to try the megabus.”

Reserved seats will be clearly identified with bespoke head rest covers, developed in partnership with Chesterfield based company, Pride & Joy.  Samples of the new covers will be on display at Pride & Joy’s stand at the NEC’s Coach & Bus UK on 2 and 3 October.
